ABB E-mobility and elexon have agreed a strategic partnership to deliver electric vehicle charging infrastructure for logistics and commercial fleet operators in Germany and Austria.
The collaboration was announced at IAA Transportation in Hanover this month. The companies said they intend to expand the partnership into further European markets.
Under the agreement, ABB E-mobility supplies high-performance DC charging technology, while elexon handles planning, installation, energy management and ongoing operation of the charging infrastructure.
Elexon has installed more than 38,000 charging points across over 1,200 logistics sites and is a certified ABB E-mobility channel partner, qualifying it to install, commission and service the charging solutions.
Bruno Bourguet, president EMEA at ABB E-mobility, said: “The depot decides whether an electrified fleet makes economic sense. Operators have to coordinate hardware, construction, grid connection and operation themselves, and that is exactly where projects fail. With our charging technology and elexon’s on-the-ground experience, they instead get one point of contact for a dependable depot.”
Marcus Scholz, chief executive of elexon, said: “Fleet operators need more than charging hardware – they need a reliable, integrated solution that works seamlessly from grid connection to daily operation. By partnering with ABB E-mobility, we combine world-class charging technology with our expertise in planning, energy management, implementation and long-term service. Together, we make the transition to electric fleets simpler, faster and more reliable for our customers.”
