BIM consultancy BIMBox has doubled its team following rapid expanstion over the 2020-21 period, as the company shrugged off the pressures posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
BIMBox, a BSI associate consultant, says it has seen a great deal of success during the period, with a steady flow of new staff joining the organisation.
The team has more than doubled from seven to 15 over the period, while the organisation has moved into a larger office space in Spring Gardens, Manchester.
The expanding BIM consultancy is continuing to recruit through the final quarter of 2021.
Since the beginning of 2020, the Manchester-based organisation has worked across over 40 construction projects nationwide, while also supporting the strategic BIM development of a dozen organisations.
Recent projects where BIMBox has provided its services include the £35m The Spine in Knowledge Quarter Liverpool and the £27m Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School in Wales for Morgan Sindall Construction.
‘We’ve been fortunate’
Chris Crookes, managing director at BIMBox, said: “It’s an exciting time for digital construction – the government’s Construction Playbook has gained renewed interest from the industry in digital construction’s role in helping to solve wider societal challenges, such as net-zero construction, in addition to efficiency gains.
“As a business that operates within the digital realm, we’ve been fortunate to not only weather the last 18 months, but to grow ahead of our projections.
“Our defined service offering, acting both as project BIM consultants across sectors, plus strategic development partners for a wide range of organisations, has brought both returning and new clients to our door.”
Crookes continued: “Our recent recruits to join the business have come from a range of specialisms, from architecture, M&E and structural engineering, to interior design and construction backgrounds, as well as graduates from dedicated BIM-courses at The University of Salford.
“We knew that we wanted to build a multi-skilled, dynamic team, and creating a bespoke space would help to bring the best out of them.
“In 2020 of all years, we relocated into a larger office at Spring Gardens, Manchester and it’s great to see everyone now able to make the most of the tailored space, in person.
“We hope it will continue to support our service offering and attract the best up-and-coming BIM talent to the business.”
