The Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) has launched an enhanced suite of training to support the global implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM).

The CDBB’s international programme aims to create opportunities for an open, digitalised, and innovative global construction market and boost the economic performance of the construction sector around the world.

Supported by the Construction Innovation Hub and the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), the programme hopes to grow the global digital construction market and facilitate trade across national borders.

The new training content includes an extension to the existing course, which focuses on national BIM programs.

There is also a completely new course focussed on the implementation of BIM from within an organisation.

The new modules provide information and exercises on how to achieve organisational change for BIM following the developments of any national level implementation and adoption of standards, such as ISO 19650.

Commenting on the launch, Adam Matthews, head of International for the Construction Innovation Hub and CDBB, said: “The success of BIM and digital transformation within an organisation often comes from effective leadership and change management as well as technical delivery.

“This course offers practical support and guidance focussed on developing the reasons and benefits for implementation by answering the question of why an organisation might need change and then developing the how to understand what needs to be delivered.

“This open online course is aimed at public policy-makers and public clients that procure, own or operate built assets and may also be of relevance and value to the private sector.”
