The French government has chosen data intelligence company ChapsVision to deploy its Argonos platform as part of a national sovereign data processing initiative.
The Heterogeneous Data Processing Tool (OTDH) project, initiated by the French Directorate General for Internal Security, is designed to give France a sovereign platform for large-scale processing of heterogeneous data. The competitive tender, launched in 2021, was divided into two lots and involved multiple competing firms.
ChapsVision won Lot 1 at the end of 2024, covering data preparation, and secured Lot 2 this month, focused on knowledge modelling, security and visualisation. With capabilities spanning both lots, the Argonos platform is expected to serve not only the Ministry of the Interior but potentially a wider range of public administrations.
The selection has been framed by the company and observers as significant for European technological sovereignty, given that the market for sensitive data processing has historically been dominated by non-European providers. ChapsVision describes itself as a company whose capital is held exclusively by European shareholders.
Olivier Dellenbach, founder and chairman of ChapsVision, said: “The trust the State is placing in us is recognition of nearly six years of commitment to sovereignty and performance. Beyond our status as a trusted partner of the State, it is a strong marker of our technological credibility in the market.
“For the most sensitive missions within administrations and companies, Argonos demonstrates that a reliable and high-performing European response exists. At a time when technological sovereignty is returning to the forefront in Europe, France’s choice sets an example for other European States. This is a tremendous source of pride for ChapsVision and for all our teams.”
The Argonos platform is designed to collect, prepare, process and analyse large volumes of data across multiple formats and sources – including photographs, video, documents and audio recordings. It can also connect to AI agents intended to assist employees with complex tasks and process automation. The platform can be deployed on a customer’s own local servers, with the company citing full architectural transparency as a key feature.
ChapsVision, founded in 2019, currently reports revenue of close to €200m. The company has indicated it intends to pursue further acquisitions in Europe to expand both the technical capabilities of Argonos and its international reach.
Silvano Sansoni, chief executive officer of ChapsVision, said: “This announcement is part of a clear ambition: to consolidate our position as a champion of data intelligence and agentic AI. The trust placed in us by the French State paves the way for broader deployment, for the benefit of public organisations and private companies around the world, particularly in Europe, where demand for technological autonomy has never been stronger. This is a structuring milestone in our growth trajectory.”
