Hardt Hyperloop and RFI extend R&D cooperation agreement

Hardt Hyperloop and Italian rail infrastructure company Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) have extended their existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), thereby continuing their cooperation in the field of hyperloop related R&D.

Going forward, Hardt Hyperloop and RFI aim to carry out technical-economic feasibility studies into where so-called hyperloop corridors may be built in the future.

The companies will focus on both freight and passenger corridors. Studies will also be carried out into how synergies with the Italian network can be achieved.

“This collaboration is an opportunity to participate in the construction of future mobility scenarios, fostering innovation in the area of new collective transport solutions in view of sustainable development, in a sector that the World Economic Forum included among the ’20 markets of tomorrow’ capable of transforming our economies”, Hardt Hyperloop commented.

The cooperation between Hardt Hyperloop and RFI builds on a 2020 MoU that saw the Dutch hyperloop company tap into RFI’s experience in the field of railway traffic management, signalling and control.

RFI, in turn, used the opportunity to build up its knowledge about hyperloop infrastructure and technology.
