Moulton College invites innovators to Construction Future Skills Event

Construction innovators leading the sector’s digital transformation have an opportunity to showcase their new technology to contractor chief executives, industry leaders and government at a new skills event.

Hosted at Moulton College, Northamptonshire, on Thursday 3 March, The Construction Future Skills Event celebrates the companies and technologies building the future – using new technology to boost productivity, sustainability, and attract new talent to the industry.

Among confirmed exhibitors are chief executives from major contractors Stepnell and Kier Group, Flannery Plant’s plant simulator, Winvic’s Health and Safety training VR, Tenstar Simulation’s professional machine education simulator, digital construction solution Oculo, and geo-spatial technology specialists Ridge.

The Construction Minister is invited, while Constructing Excellence (CE) Midlands and the National Federation of Builders (NFB) are event partners.

Moulton’s own construction students, as well as pupils from local universities, colleges and schools will also attend, with the aim of inspiring young people to start a construction career.

A ‘technology-led revolution’

Corrie Harris, Principal and Chief Executive at Moulton College, said: “We’re on the cusp of a technology-led revolution, and we need to respond and move with these changes, driving innovation and preparing the next generation of the industry to build the future.

“This is a rare opportunity to meet industry decision makers and employers to showcase how your technology is at the forefront of change. It’s also about inspiring and helping young people to enter construction and ensure they get the skills they need for a long and successful career.”

“This event provides direction on skills training by combining excellent networking and learning opportunities. That’s why we’re inviting industry specialists and innovators to come together to showcase and celebrate some of the very best skills, talents, products and technologies construction can offer.”

The Construction Future Skills Event runs from 10.30am-4pm, offering networking and commercial opportunities, as well as a chance to meet other innovators and educators to demonstrate the sector’s tomorrow, today.
