Sika has announced it has become a member of the Offsite Alliance in a bid to help drive the adoption of offsite manufacturing in the UK.

The swiss specialty chemical firm says it will use its status as a manufacturer and supplier of construction materials to drive the construction industry toward a full transition to offsite manufacturing.

Offsite Alliance’s MMC division will work with modular manufacturers to see how Sika’s products could be used as part of the offsite process.

Through a combination of action and collaboration, Sika says it will work with like-minded organisations to promote best practice, share innovation, and create sustainable homes for the future.

Simon Griffiths, head of Sales for Offsite Construction at Sika, said: “We are delighted to have joined the Offsite Alliance – we see a perfect strategic fit.

“We have a great team at Sika, who in many cases are already involved in driving forward industry and association agendas.

“We see this addition as a natural step forward to working collaboratively with the MMC industry, to raise the profile and standards, and to help deliver the aspirations of the industry.”

Founded in 2019, Offsite Alliance works alongside leading organisations, industry bodies, government, local authorities, housing associations, and its members, to cultivate adoption of offsite manufacturing technologies across the residential sector.
