Start your engines, get ready for the show

Building Innovation Awards

Taking place on the opening night of UKCW Birmingham, this year’s Building Innovation Awards once again offers up a star-studded cast of finalists

Get your motorcycles running and rev those engines in salute to this year’s contenders at the Building Innovation Awards 2026 – the list of finalists for this year’s contest has officially been announced.

If the reference to motorbikes seems a little random for a show dedicated to innovation in the construction and built environment sectors, fear not – it’ll make sense (one hopes) once you realise where the awards are being held this year.

They say a change is as good as a rest, but there’s more to it than that; this year, the glitz and glamour of the Building Innovation Awards is taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) & Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

The awards are returning for their seventh year celebrating the successes of the organisations and people that are transforming construction. This year, however, they take place alongside UK Construction Week (UKCW), making for a spectacular opening night on the 29 September.

It represents a powerful synergy, a chance for guests to continue the networking and the discussion beyond the exhibition, with an evening of entertainment, a gala dinner, and the chance to applaud their peers into the bargain.

Build in Digital, meanwhile, returns to UKCW for the fourth year running as a content partner, once again curating the Digitalisation & AI Stage.

On the night, there are 29 awards up for grabs, and once again competition for the prizes is fierce. The judges faced some tough decisions assessing the record number of entries to determine who has earned their place in the spotlight. The rest of us – like the winners – will find out at the ceremony.

For now, we can savour the list of finalists. It’s certainly a star-studded cast, featuring well-known names as well as plenty of up-and-comers; between them, they represent an industry that is no stranger to challenge, but nonetheless rises to meet them.

So, without further ado, let’s meet the finalists of the Building Innovation Awards 2026. It promises to be quite the night. But maybe leave your motorcycles at home…
