UK drone association launches CPD classes for the built environment

To support the safe adoption of drones across multiple sectors, the UK drone trade industry association ARPAS-UK has teamed up with a panel of leading specialists to deliver CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions.

The online programme is in association with Connected Places Catapult (CPC), who provide impartial ‘innovation as a service’ for public bodies, businesses, and infrastructure providers.

It is intended that sessions will extend across the year and become a reference for user groups including surveyors, planners, infrastructure specialists, housing, local government, highways, and inspection amongst many others.

Scheduled to kick-off with an introductory session today (24 February) the series initially covers eight topics in March.

The initial topics incorporate key subject areas including:

  • Thermal uses
  • Infrastructure Inspection
  • Volumetric Analysis, Surveys and accuracy using drones
  • Insurance for drones

Online delivery is the immediate focus and in person events will follow. The events will be relevant to surveyors, engineers, infrastructure specialists, energy technicians and a wide spectrum of users and stakeholders in multiple industries.

There will also be a series of events relevant to management, governance, oversight and financial benefits.
