Ultrapanel’s ‘room in the roof’ has won ‘Best Offsite/Modular Innovation’ at the prestigious Building Innovation Awards.

The awards, which took place at Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester, celebrate the most innovative products, services and technology that are reshaping the UK construction sector.

The ‘room in the roof’ system was launched in January and has already received accolades at other award ceremonies, as well as being rolled out on sites across the UK by some of the UK’s most prolific housebuilders.

Commenting about the win at the Building Innovation Awards, Ultrapanel managing director John Hough said: “We are extremely delighted to have won the award for Best Offsite/Modular Innovation at the Building Innovation Awards.

“Our ‘room in the roof’ system was only launched in January, and for us to have been recognised at these, and other prestigious awards in our first year is something that we are extremely proud of.

“The Ultrapanel system is being used on sites across the UK to provide an efficient roofing solution that brings many benefits to housebuilders.

“It’s been a tremendous launch year for us, and we are very grateful to receive this latest award.”

Ultrapanel says its accredited modern method of construction – which is manufactured off site and delivered as a flat-packed ‘room in the roof’ kit – is the most efficient end-to-end way to build.

Materials, manufacturing, and labour are optimised to deliver structural and thermal performance in a “much lighter, simpler, and faster building system, with a high quality finish every time”.

Arriving palletised Ultrapanel is rapidly assembled and requires no heavy lifting equipment.

Ultrapanel says that, due to short call-offs and a responsive supply chain, its room in the roof delivers “significant” programme gains on busy sites.

Since launch, the Ultrapanel ‘room in the roof’ system has won Best Offsite/Modular Innovation category at the Building Innovation Awards, Best Brand New Product at the Housebuilder Product Awards, and Highly Commended at the Offsite Awards for Product Innovation.
