The Building Innovation Awards has once again been recognised for its integrity, fairness, and transparency, after an independent assessment.

The event – organised by Build in Digital‘s publisher, UKBE – retained the Trust Mark Outstanding accreditation, issued by the Independent Awards Standards Council (IASC).

This is the second year running that the awards have earned this top accreditation. In 2025, the event was upgraded from Advanced – awarded in 2024 – to Outstanding. The Building Innovation Awards is the first such construction event to be so accredited.

The independent recognition validates the quality of the Building Innovation Awards’ judging process, organiser integrity, and entrant experience. The Outstanding rating is the highest level achievable within the scheme.

The Trust Mark scheme was established by the IASC to promote transparency and best practice across the awards industry. Accreditation is reviewed annually and backed by direct feedback from both entrants and judges.

Joe Broun, managing director of UKBE, said: “We work hard to ensure our events are open, transparent, and fair; it’s gratifying to once again have that acknowledged by an independent body.

“The Building Innovations Awards, like all our awards events, rely on the independent assessment of the judging panel. We are privileged to have some of the foremost industry leaders and experts serve on our panel, who between them share a deep well of experience and knowledge about the sector. We couldn’t do it without them; they ensure the awards are based on the merit of the entrants.”

In the IASC’s feedback from this latest accreditation, one judge said: “The Building Innovation Awards play a vital role in recognising and celebrating the pioneers who are transforming the built environment. By shining a spotlight on innovation, the awards help share best practice, inspire fresh thinking and encourage the industry to continue pushing boundaries.”

Another said: “Overall, I found the awards to be well run, transparent and professionally managed. The process gave confidence in both the integrity of judging and the quality of outcomes.”

And a third added: “It’s an exceptionally well run awards ceremony that recognises and celebrates great strides forwards in the construction industry.”

An entrant was quoted as saying: “The Building Innovation Awards were straightforward to enter and well run throughout. As an entrant, that transparency counts for a great deal.”

The shortlist for the latest Building Innovation Awards is due to be announced later this month, on 28 July, with the event itself held at the National Conference Centre & Motorbike Museum, Birmingham, on 29 September 2026. The event coincides with UK Construction Week.
