Project set-up time slashed by 80%

by Simon Foulds

GSH Projects, a specialist construction and fit-out company, has decreased its project set-up time by 80%, streamlining processes and supporting scalable growth. This was achieved by implementing a digital platform for documentation, communication, and reporting in construction, facility management, and real estate.

The company originally adopted PlanRadar in January 2024 to help solve persistent inefficiencies as the company expanded, and as managing large-scale projects efficiently became increasingly complex. Crucially, they needed greater process standardisation, improved compliance tracking, and reduced administrative tasks. One focus area was installation ticket production, a significant challenge of managing large-scale projects, such as fire doors, requiring thousands of manual uploads.

Digital platform

Not only were the company’s existing methods time-consuming and predominantly offline, but they also wanted a digital platform that could reduce the use of error-prone, siloed, and nebulous paper documentation, emails, and various disconnected tools.

It sought a holistic solution to automate compliance processes, improve project collaboration, and establish a single source of truth.

PlanRadar’s ‘Connect’ tool provides GSH Projects with a ‘one-stop shop’ for project management and automating ticket creation.

This proved a real game-changer. When a parent ticket is created, the platform automatically generates sub-tickets and documents to guide next steps. This enabled the GSH Projects team to focus more on project execution and less on time-consuming administration tasks.

Saving time improves productivity

It also helped streamline tedious but essential admin processes, including form generation and compliance tracking.

Darryl Wandless, Compliance Coordinator at GSH Projects, added, “Before incorporating PlanRadar, project set-up was a lengthy process, especially for those that required heavy documentation. It used to take one person an entire day to compile an order for around 400 fire doors; now it is done in minutes.

“We probably save about 80% in setting up a project from the get-go compared to the last platform we used. It’s also been transformative in administrative terms as our workload has decreased by 50%, helping improve capacity levels, so our team can focus squarely on efficiently implementing each project.”
