AI construction technology company Buildots is accelerating the delivery of the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), a £105 million NHS facility, through its collaboration with Integrated Health Projects (IHP) – the joint venture of VINCI Building and Sir Robert McAlpine. The NRC will combine world-class research, education, and clinical care under Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH), with Buildots’ platform already driving measurable efficiency gains and taxpayer value.
AI-powered progress tracking for complex healthcare projects
The complexity of healthcare construction projects demands precise coordination. Buildots leverages 360° site imagery and compares it against the project’s BIM model and schedule to deliver real-time visibility of planned vs. actual progress. Its predictive analytics highlight at-risk activities, enabling IHP and NUH to take proactive corrective action.
Ryan McCormack, Head of Programme Construction and Commercial at NUH, emphasised Buildots’ impact: “When we approach a project like NRC, we look at how we can save taxpayers’ money without compromising quality. Buildots provides a full picture of the current status of the build, helping us make informed decisions every step of the way to ensure we can open our doors to patients who need us.”
Data-driven construction management
IHP and NUH are embedding continuous improvement through Buildots’ objective progress data, identifying root causes of delays and refining execution strategies. IHP enhances this insight by integrating biometric turnstile data to track workforce levels and correlate them with weekly construction progress, enabling efficient labour allocation.
“Our top commitments are to the quality of our work and the speed at which we deliver it – especially for a medical facility,” said Will Coupland, Project Director at IHP. “With Buildots, our team is better equipped to spot inefficiencies, take immediate corrective action, and streamline processes.”
Leading digital innovation in healthcare construction
Buildots’ expertise in AI-driven construction productivity builds on successes like the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s BEACH building. Aviv Leibovici, Co-founder and CPO of Buildots, highlighted the significance: “IHP continues to lead the way by embedding data-driven decision-making into every layer of project delivery. This is the future of healthcare construction – proactive, accountable, and insight-led.”
