Leading industry voices unite in Spain to showcase how digital tools and AI are reshaping construction project management.
Arup, a global design and engineering consultancy, and international law firm Eversheds Sutherland have joined forces with digital construction platform PlanRadar to highlight how advanced technology is transforming the construction sector. At a recent industry event in Spain, the three organisations underscored a unified vision: driving construction’s digital future in the age of AI.
The event, which also welcomed major players like Avintia and over 10,000 subcontractors already using PlanRadar, focused on the sector’s shift from paper-based processes to cloud-based, data-driven solutions. The discussion centered on the role of AI in construction, with a spotlight on benefits such as improved traceability, streamlined project delivery, and reduced legal risk.
Process improvement and AI strategy alignment
Following a comprehensive evaluation process, Arup integrated PlanRadar into its suite of digital tools. Sara Briz, Project Manager at Arup, explained: “We chose PlanRadar for its ability to deliver process improvement, automation, and comprehensive data traceability. This aligns with our AI strategy, allowing our teams to focus on high-value work while ensuring robust digital documentation.”
A digital future for dispute reduction
Eversheds Sutherland brought a legal perspective to the conversation, highlighting how AI and digital documentation are revolutionising construction law. Andrés Ponce, Legal Director, noted: “Tools like PlanRadar significantly reduce the potential for disputes, foster collaboration, and boost productivity throughout the project lifecycle.”
Building a digitally connected industry
Rob Norton, UK Director at PlanRadar, reflected on the event: “Bringing together leaders like Arup, Eversheds Sutherland, and Avintia shows that we’re at a critical juncture in construction’s digital transformation. The adoption of AI-powered tools like PlanRadar is key to enhancing quality, minimising risk, and improving project outcomes.”
