First certified solar robotics operator

by Simon Foulds

SunRobi achieves certification, advancing digital construction through autonomous solar installation systems across energy infrastructure projects.

SunRobi, the robotic-assisted construction division of Sunstall, confirmed certification as the first operator approved for Cosmic Robotics’ Cosmic-1A autonomous module installation system after repeated deployments on United States utility-scale solar projects.

The status formalises collaboration between engineering, procurement, and construction teams integrating autonomous solar installation systems within EPC workflows, linking logistics, layout planning, and on-site execution across project renewable energy builds.

Crews report improved installation consistency, measurable productivity gains, and safer operations as robotics functions as a force multiplier supporting experienced installers while maintaining programme certainty demanded across digital construction and energy infrastructure markets.

Addresses solar workforce and delivery constraints

“Solar demand is accelerating, and construction has to keep up, without burning out the workforce,” said Helge Biernath, CEO of Sunstall Inc. “Robotic-assisted installation allows us to scale responsibly. This isn’t an experiment anymore. It’s ready for production today.”

Through robotic-assisted construction, SunRobi designs projects around robotic capabilities, enabling trained teams to deliver larger installations with predictable scheduling and improved workforce safety while supporting national renewable energy capacity targets.

“SunRobi has proven what’s possible when advanced robotics are placed in the hands of operators who understand construction,” said James Emerick, Co-founder and CEO of Cosmic Robotics. Their integration of Cosmic-1A into live projects shifts autonomous installation from experimentation to production environments supporting scalable solar construction delivery worldwide.

Transform EPC workflow performance

For digital construction stakeholders, certified autonomous solar installation systems demonstrate how robotics integration reduces schedule risk while supporting sustainable workforce planning across utility-scale renewable energy programmes, ensuring resilient delivery models meeting investor expectations amid accelerating global decarbonisation commitments shaping infrastructure procurement strategies for public and private sector clients across expanding energy transition markets internationally today.

Certification signals maturing autonomous solar construction where robotics, skilled labour, and digital construction methods combine to deliver scalable energy infrastructure supporting future resilient electricity networks worldwide sustainably.
