Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK) has announced three new appointments to its Board, marking a further step in its work to advance intelligent transport, digital infrastructure and technology-enabled mobility across the UK. Jo Field of JFG Communications, Chacasta Pritlove of Google Cloud, and Claire Spooner of Innovate UK will support the organisation as it continues to promote data-driven systems, connected mobility, digital transformation and innovation in the transport sector.
Shared goals
The appointments come at a time when the digital construction and transport technology industries are aligning more closely around shared goals, including Net Zero, integrated infrastructure and intelligent system design. With transport technology increasingly embedded within the wider built environment, ITS UK’s strengthened leadership aims to support a more efficient and resilient national network.
Jo Field
Jo Field, Founder and Chief Executive of JFG Communications, joins the Board with more than two decades of experience in public affairs, stakeholder engagement and transport sector leadership. Field highlighted the significance of this moment for the UK transport industry, noting the role of new technologies in economic development and the importance of inclusion within innovation. Her focus on diversity and collaboration aligns with the industry’s broader push towards accessible mobility and system-wide stakeholder engagement.
Chacasta Pritlove
Chacasta Pritlove, Head of Transport at Google Cloud UKI, brings long-standing expertise in cloud technology, data platforms and digital integration. Her experience supports ongoing sector priorities such as secure data infrastructure, system interoperability and the adoption of emerging technologies including Agentic AI. Pritlove emphasised the opportunity to work with industry and Government on advancing a data-driven and integrated transport system, reflecting the growing relevance of cloud technologies across digital construction and intelligent mobility.
Claire Spooner
Claire Spooner, Director of Mobility at Innovate UK, contributes deep knowledge of public-sector innovation programmes, funding mechanisms and the UK’s Net Zero agenda. Her work in mobility innovation places her at the centre of efforts to scale new technologies across the transport network, from connected systems to low-carbon mobility. Spooner noted the pivotal moment for intelligent transport systems as they support the transition towards cleaner and more connected movement of people and goods.
Enhancing services
Commenting on the appointments, ITS UK Chair and ITS Projects Director at Mott MacDonald, Catherine Whitfield, welcomed the new Board members and underlined the organisation’s commitment to enhancing services for its membership. Chief Executive Max Sugarman added that the combined expertise of the three appointees—spanning digital transformation, public affairs, innovation and transport technology—will strengthen ITS UK’s role in supporting a more integrated network and advancing the UK’s economic and decarbonisation objectives.
Rapid development
The new Board members join at a time of rapid development in intelligent transport and digital construction, where collaborative leadership is essential to delivering modern, data-enabled infrastructure. Their combined experience positions ITS UK to support continued progress across the transport technology ecosystem, reinforcing the organisation’s role in shaping the future of mobility and supporting national goals around efficiency, resilience and Net Zero.
