Creating  a super event for the UK built environment

by Simon Foulds

Futurebuild and UK Construction Week London will unite in 2026 to reshape the UK built environment events landscape.

From 12–14 May 2026, Futurebuild and UK Construction Week London will co-locate at Excel London, forming the UK’s Built Environment Super Event. This strategic collaboration establishes a single national platform reflecting the scale, complexity and transformation priorities of the UK construction and built environment sector.

The combined event will bring together more than 25,000 built environment professionals, over 600 exhibitors and more than 700 speakers across ten dedicated content stages. It will represent the largest and most comprehensive construction event in the UK calendar, addressing sustainability, delivery, materials, skills and digital construction under one roof.

Two established construction events, one connected platform

Futurebuild and UK Construction Week London will remain distinct construction shows while operating as a connected destination. Each will retain its established identity, audience focus and curated programmes, ensuring clarity for visitors while enabling cross-sector collaboration.

Futurebuild will continue as the UK’s leading event for sustainability, net zero construction and built environment innovation. Its CPD-accredited programme supports architects, designers, developers and local authorities with insight into low-carbon construction, circular economy principles and large-scale retrofit delivery. This leadership is reinforced by The National Retrofit Conference, which convenes policymakers, housing providers and net zero leaders.

UK Construction Week London will maintain its focus on practical construction delivery. The event supports contractors, housebuilders, engineers and trades through live demonstrations, immersive features and CPD content centred on on-site application, tools, systems and skills.

Expanding materials, finishes and specifications

The co-located event will also host The Stone & Surfaces Show, strengthening the materials and interiors offer. With a specialist focus on natural stone, surfaces and finishes, its inclusion creates stronger links between design, specification and installation, supporting more integrated decision-making across the construction supply chain.

Responding to industry priorities

The collaboration responds directly to industry demand for cohesion and connected leadership at a time when decarbonisation, skills reform and productivity improvement are critical. By aligning Futurebuild’s systems-level sustainability expertise with UK Construction Week London’s delivery-led scale, the event provides a full project lifecycle perspective.

Martin Hurn, Event Director at Futurebuild, said: “This is about creating one connected platform that reflects how the industry actually works – from vision to specification to delivery. Futurebuild will continue to lead on sustainability and long-term systems thinking, and collaborating with UK Construction Week London enables us to extend that influence into the practical, on-site world.”

Sam Patel, Divisional Director at UK Construction Week London, added: “Collaborating with Futurebuild and The Stone & Surfaces Show unlocks new depth and strategic value, creating a destination that is more relevant and valuable to every part of the built environment.”

Opportunities for exhibitors and digital construction

For exhibitors, the UK Built Environment Super Event offers expanded reach across specifiers, consultants, contractors and delivery partners. Benefits include stronger visitor journeys, improved lead quality and visibility across fast-growth areas such as digital construction, construction technology, AI, offsite construction, retrofit and sustainable materials.

By uniting Futurebuild, UK Construction Week London and The Stone & Surfaces Show, the UK gains a connected national platform supporting sustainable, digital and delivery-focused construction across the entire built environment.
