Delivering Rouse Hill Hospital in Sydney’s northwest

by Simon Foulds

UK construction consultant Turner & Townsend, the global professional services company, has been appointed by Health Infrastructure to provide project management services for the delivery of Rouse Hill Hospital in New South Wales (NSW).

The NSW and Federal governments have committed AU$910 million to build a state-of-the-art hospital to serve the growing northwest community of Sydney.

The new hospital will be on the doorstep of the Rouse Hill Town Centre. The Rouse Hill Hospital will deliver a range of emergency services, comprehensive birthing services, inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital, which is being designed in consultation with health professionals and the community, will embrace advanced digital technology and innovative models of care to bring world-class health services right into the home.

Turner & Townsend’s healthcare experience includes working with several major government departments in Australia. The company has helped deliver over AU$20bn in capital value of hospital projects worldwide over the past decade, helping meet the rising demand for services.

Kirsty Gill, Health Sector Lead, Australia and New Zealand, at Turner & Townsend said:  “Anticipating population growth of 500,000 by 2041 in the North-West growth area, the state-of-the art Rouse Hill Hospital will be a vital local health hub in Western Sydney that provides crucial acute and community care services for residents now and in the future.

“This appointment continues our long-term partnership with Health Infrastructure to deliver on its vision for modern, accessible, digitally enabled models of healthcare and wellness through prevention.”
