Jennie Daly CBE will lead collaboration advancing digital construction and delivery of zero-carbon homes nationwide.
Jennie Daly CBE, Chief Executive of Taylor Wimpey plc, has been appointed Chair of the Future Homes Hub, assuming the role on 10 June 2026. She succeeds David Thomas, Chief Executive of Barratt Redrow plc, who became the Hub’s inaugural Chair in 2022. The appointment places a senior industry figure at the centre of efforts linking housing delivery, policy, and digital construction practices to accelerate zero carbon homes across the UK.
The Future Homes Hub operates as an independent organisation uniting the homebuilding industry, supply chain partners, and government to deliver sustainable homes at scale while supporting implementation of future housing standards.
Sustainable housing delivery
Daly, recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2024 for services to business and housing, brings experience across public and private housing delivery. Her appointment aligns with ongoing sector efforts to integrate digital construction methods, data-led planning, and supply chain collaboration into sustainable housing development.
Commenting on her appointment, Daly said: “It is fundamentally important that the homes and places we build are sustainable, affordable, and provide the foundations for people, communities and nature to thrive in the long term. It is good for business, for customers and for the environment.
“The Future Homes Hub has established itself as a central mechanism for bringing policymakers and the new homes sector together to inform and deliver on future standards.
I am looking forward to taking on the role of Chair of the Hub and working with builders of all sizes, the wider value chain and with the Government, to help meet the challenges ahead.”
Net-zero transition in new home construction
Over the past three years, the Future Homes Hub has coordinated industry implementation boards addressing Future Homes Standard requirements, biodiversity net gain compliance, and embodied carbon reduction strategies. These programmes are shaping how developers and digital construction supply chains prepare for net-zero housing delivery.
In 2025, the Hub published a Net-Zero Transition Plan outlining a shared pathway for decarbonising new homes while supporting delivery through data sharing, construction innovation, and cross-industry coordination. The organisation also launched the Homes for Nature commitment, introducing features such as bird-nesting bricks and hedgehog highways as standard components of new housing developments.
Outgoing Chair David Thomas reflected on progress achieved: “The new homes industry has made enormous strides in recent years to meet the climate and environmental challenges of the 21st century.
“I am immensely proud of the work the Future Homes Hub has done to support the sector, driving a collaborative culture, supporting SMEs and developing solutions that work for customers and the environment.
As we face new challenges in the years ahead, Jennie is ideally placed to help lead the Hub through this next phase.”
Future Homes Hub Chief Executive Ed Lockhart added: “I am delighted that Jennie has been appointed as the next chair of the Future Homes Hub.
“She brings vast knowledge and expertise, as well as extensive experience of engaging across both central and local government. I look forward to working together to help the sector deliver more high-quality sustainable homes and communities.
I would also like to thank David for his leadership and support as the Future Homes Hub’s inaugural Chair.”
Jennie Daly’s appointment positions Future Homes Hub to align digital construction, policy, and industry delivery, supporting net-zero homes, resilient communities, and measurable environmental progress nationwide today.
