Construction software specialist Procore Technologies is now working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on digital twins.
As part of the new collaboration, Procore will utilise the AWS IoT TwinMaker which creates digital twins for buildings, factories, industrial equipment, and production lines.
AWS IoT TwinMaker will allow Procore data to be integrated from design and construction through to operations, Procore said in a press statement yesterday.
This consolidation of information can streamline operations and maintenance and enable lifecycle analysis of portfolio assets, the company added.
Tiffany LaBruno, product director, owners at Procore, said: “We’re very excited about our partnership with AWS.
“With this partnership we can leverage Procore’s course of construction data during that operations phase to help owners reduce costs, optimise performance, and be better prepared for future project needs.”
Procore’s CEO, Tooey Courtemanche, added: “Nearly 80% of the cost of a project happens during the operations phase of the construction lifecycle. Knowing how a design or procurement decision will impact a project is one of the most complicated challenges in construction.
“What AWS and Procore are able to offer together is a deeper understanding of how those decisions can help streamline operations, reduce costs and optimise performance by applying 3D models and digital twin technology.
“AWS technology powered through Procore’s platform frees the construction industry to do what they do best: build, maintain and power the places we live and work.”
