San Francisco-based building product and technology firm, Project Frog, has launched a SaaS Design Management Solution (DMS) for the AEC industry.
KitConnect is a software that facilitates building information modelling (BIM) design reuse and building productisation. It offers a framework for repeatability, consistency, and scalability of building designs, said the firm.
Built on a relational-component database, KitConnect is modelled after Product Data Management (PDM) solutions in the Manufacturing industry but purpose-built for the specific demands of AEC workflows.
As changes occur throughout the lifecycle of a project, designers, manufacturers, and builders can push information back to the Kit, ensuring everyone is working with relevant and current data.
KitConnect reduces repetitive modelling, saves time, and eliminates errors that inevitably occur when recreating content, said the firm.
Mike Eggers, chief product officer at Project Frog, said: “KitConnect goes beyond content management systems and puts managing design IP at the forefront.
“KitConnect is the best way to manage modular, prototype or repeatable design collections while promoting continuous improvement BIM workflows.”
Project Frog calls itself an ‘industrialised construction pioneer’ and specialises in designing, developing, and managing prefab Kits-of-Parts.
