Ramboll has named Mark Meier as the incoming managing director for its operations in Germany.

Meier, who takes up the role in May this year, is moving from his current position as vice president and managing director at BASF, where he has worked for the past 20 years.

Over that time, Meier has held leadership roles with the company across Germany, Italy, France, the UK, and the Nordic countries.

He brings years of experience as a business executive working in different innovation driven B2B business lines across Europe. He has a strong background working with strategic business development, sales management, innovation, and change management.

Michael Simmelsgaard, Ramboll’s chief operating officer, said: “With Mark we have gotten a strong, energetic and purposeful leader on board, who is ready to take Ramboll’s full offerings to the next level in the dynamic German market.

“I believe he will be a strong contribution to continue Ramboll´s success in Germany and contribute to driving sustainable change.”

Meier added: “I have been following Ramboll’s development for years and am very excited to now join Ramboll myself.

“Ramboll is actively working to accelerate sustainable change and facilitating the global transition towards more sustainable world. With our team of experts in Germany, we are well-positioned to support clients in advancing the green transition.

“Together we will leverage the combined strengths of the existing organization and recent acquisitions to drive a successful and sustainable business in Germany.”
