Insulation panel producer Siderise Insulation has opened a new innovation centre at its headquarters in South Wales.
The purpose-built facility officially opened in January 2023 following a major investment that also saw Siderise increase its manufacturing capacity and office space in 2022.
The new facility features a specialist fire test furnace that can be used to test products to EN and BS fire safety standards.

This will allow the company to not only conduct its own research and development and quality control testing but also to expand its solution offering, helping to develop passive fire protection systems for even the most unusual projects, the firm said.
Chris Mort, R&D Director at Siderise, commented: “Opening the doors of our Innovation Centre marks a huge step forward for Siderise, raising our global profile as a diligent and dedicated manufacturer of life safety critical products.
“Our core guiding principle is ‘integrity in all we do’— this means that the products we create and the services we provide are underpinned by clear research and proven results.
“This new facility will allow us to deliver on this promise more easily and efficiently, whilst supporting us in looking beyond current standards and practices to enable the safest future possible for our built environment.
“It is also our hope to eventually offer out its use to the wider industry to support high fire safety standards across the sector and we are seeking the appropriate accreditations to enable us to do this.”
The facility has been constructed to meet the requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025- Testing and Calibration Laboratories. This verifies that it will operate competently and generate valid results.
