The Building Innovation Awards has once again been officially recognised for its integrity, fairness, and transparency – and in 2025 have been upgraded from an ‘Advanced’ (Silver Mark) to an ‘Outstanding’ (Gold Mark) accreditation from the Awards Trust Mark, making it the only UK construction awards programme to hold this status.
The Trust Mark scheme was established by the Independent Awards Standards Council (IASC) to promote transparency and best practice across the awards industry. Accreditation is reviewed annually and backed by direct feedback from both entrants and judges.
This independent recognition validates the quality of the Building Innovation Awards’ judging process, organiser integrity, and entrant experience. The “Outstanding” rating is the highest level achievable within the scheme.
At a time when trust and credibility matter more than ever in awards programmes, the Building Innovation Awards continues to lead by example. Organised by UK Business Events (UKBE), the awards are rooted in a clear commitment to fairness – from a transparent entry process and independent judging to honest feedback.
Now in its seventh year, the Building Innovation Awards celebrates the people, organisations, and technologies transforming construction. From digital breakthroughs and offsite manufacturing to sustainable design and AI, the awards shine a spotlight on innovation that delivers real impact – not just ideas.
The judging panel for 2025 brings together a diverse mix of senior leaders from across the built environment, infrastructure, higher education and digital construction. Finalists are assessed against clear and robust criteria to ensure that excellence, creativity, and value are recognised.
One judge described the programme as “the most professionally run” they’ve taken part in, with “very fair and balanced discussions” and entries “always reviewed against the original criteria.”
An entrant said: “The exposure we got from winning and placing in the finals has been immensely valuable to us as a start-up. Unlike other industry competitions, this one is not pay-to-play.”
Others praised the entry process for its accessibility and transparency, with several thanking Gillian, Head of Events, for her responsiveness and support throughout the process.
