Your AI feedback is required

Now in its 13th year, the NBS Digital Construction Survey 2025 takes a bold step forward by spotlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in design, specification, and construction. For over a decade, NBS has been tracking the adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other digital technologies.

The 2025 edition expands that legacy, exploring how cutting-edge tools are redefining workflows and delivering new efficiencies across the sector.

A deeper look at digital transformation and AI in construction

Designed for professionals spanning architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, and specification, the survey explores how digital tools are being used in practice and how attitudes are shifting towards innovation and automation.

For the first time, this year’s questions include a dedicated section on AI adoption, offering new insights into how technologies like machine learning and generative design are starting to impact everyday decisions in the built environment.

“Digital transformation continues to reshape the construction industry at an accelerating pace,” said Dr Stephen Hamil, Innovation Director at Hubexo (Global). “With BIM now firmly established, we’re seeing new technologies like artificial intelligence begin to revolutionise how we design, specify, and build. This year’s survey will provide valuable benchmark data on AI adoption rates, implementation challenges, and emerging opportunities, helping the industry navigate its next chapter of innovation.”

Why take part in the Digital Construction Survey 2025?

Participating in the survey offers tangible benefits, both for individuals and the wider industry:

  • Contribute to vital research shaping the digital future of construction
  • Share your challenges, successes, and insights with digital tools and technologies
  • Receive early access to the full findings before they’re publicly released
  • Support a great cause—for every completed response, NBS donates £1 to CRASH, the construction industry charity supporting homelessness and hospice projects

The survey is designed to take just 10–15 minutes and is open to all professionals working in the built environment.

Be among the first to access the results

Everyone who completes the survey will receive a pre-release copy of the final report, gaining early access to valuable insights on digital transformation, BIM usage, and how AI is changing construction practices from the ground up.
